Dear mindful friends,
2010 Calendar (please download and print), as well as the outline of
the 7-week "Zen Practice Period" in which we will delve more deeply
into the "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" every Sunday starting on
Halloween ("Samhain," Autumn Midpoint) until Winter Solstice, from a
ZEN perspective. You are encouraged to check out one of the following
of Deepak Chopra's books:
- The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
- The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga
- The Seven Spiritual Laws for Parents
* You can also check out the movie based on the book:
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success from ChopraCenter
I will be with you EVERY Sunday during this 7-week series, so please
take advantage of this rare and precious opportunity.
During this 52-day "Zen Practice Period," I want to encourage ALL of
us to practice meditation EVERY day, maybe even twice a day. If you
can meditate for a minimum of 20 minutes each day, great. If you can
only do less, please do whatever you can (even 5 minutes consistently
every day is more effective than 60 minutes once a week). But the
power of this practice is in practicing EVERY day, not skipping more
than one day at a time. I AM COMMITTED TO MEDITATING EVERY DAY
WITHOUT SKIPPING ANY DAYS FOR THE NEXT 7 WEEKS TO ENCOURAGE YOU AND
GIVE YOU ALL MY FULL SUPPORT. Please support and encourage me too
with your committed practice. Thank you!
Here are the basic practices you can engage in on Sunday through
Saturday of each of these seven weeks:
SUNDAY
The ZEN of Pure Potentiality
Take time to be silent, to just BE. Meditate for 30 minutes twice a
day. Silently witness the intelligence within every living
thing. Practice non-judgment.
MONDAY
The ZEN of Giving
Today, bring whoever you encounter a gift: a compliment or flower. Gratefully receive gifts. Keep wealth circulating by giving and receiving care, affection, appreciation and love.
TUESDAY
The ZEN of Karma
Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind. Choosing actions that bring happiness and success to others ensures the flow of happiness and success to you.
WEDNESDAY
The ZEN of Least Effort
Accept people, situations, and events as they occur. Take responsibility for your situation and for all events seen as problems. Relinquish the need to defend your point of view.
THURSDAY
The ZEN of Intention and Desire
Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment. Make a list of desires. Trust that when things don't seem to go your way, there is a reason.
FRIDAY
The ZEN of Detachment
Allow yourself and others the freedom to be who they are. Do not force solutions -- allow solutions to spontaneously emerge. Uncertainty is essential, and your path to freedom.
SATURDAY
The ZEN of Dharma
Seek your higher Self. Discover your unique talents. Ask yourself how you are best suited to serve humanity. Using your unique talents and serving others brings unlimited bliss and abundance.
Many of us grew up with the belief that achieving success
requires relentless hard work, grim determination and intense
ambition. As a result, we may have struggled for years and even
reached some of our goals but wound up feeling exhausted, our lives
out of balance. As Deepak Chopra observes in his transformational work
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, such desperate striving isn't
necessary or even desirable. In the natural world, creation comes
forth with ease. A seed doesn't struggle to become a tree -- it
simply unfolds in grace.
The Seven Spiritual Laws are powerful principles you can use to
fulfill your deepest desires with effortless joy. If you put them into
practice, you'll realize that you can manifest whatever you've
been dreaming about.
